The Outeniqua
Choo-Tjoe.
The last scheduled Steam Train service still running in South
Africa between George & Knysna. Pulled by puffing
steam engines dating back to the 1940's. You will be taken
on a breathtaking scenic trip through forests, across lakes,
rivers and sea inlets, finally crossing the long bridge over
the Knysna lagoon. A real relaxing adventure on your Garden

Enjoy a leisurely canoe trip across the Knysna Lagoon to the
beautiful Featherbed Nature Reserve. Hike to the top of the
Western Head. Abseil down the cliff face 122 meters
ending off with a 4 wheeled quad bike ride through the fynbos
before canoeing back across the lagoon. |

Mountain Bike

You do not need to be as fit-as-a-fiddle as all mountain bike
tours are discussed and decided with your guide before hand.
Routes of varying intensity ranging from 12 to 24 km in length
- approximately 1.5 to 3 hours. Undulating terrain,
with a combination of jeep track and single track through
the magical Knysna indigenous forests. |

Forest walks
and hikes.
Elephants once used to roam through the Knysna forests but
sadly they were exploited for their ivory by the early settlers
and are now all but extinct. There are many hiking trails
through the forest to be enjoyed. The Millwood Gold
mine is a popular walk where settles once panned for Gold
and hand dug tunnels into the mountains. |

surf on soft sandy beaches
Knysna is situated around a lagoon and the best beaches
are within a 20 minutes radius with excellent bathing beaches
and surfing areas. |

Knysna
boasts of a large selection of restaurants and street-side
coffee bars catering to a wide variety of tastes. For
those with a passion for delectable oysters a visit to the
oyster factory is a must. Oysters have been farmed in
Knysna Lagoon for many years. |

Whale watching
Seasonal from June - November, is mainly done from Plettenberg
Bay (30km east) However, trips can also be booked directly
out of Knysna Lagoon. Licensed boats are allowed to
approach to within 50m and there are only two licensed boats

Tree Top Canopy
Tours
Enjoy the unequalled experience of travelling 30 meters above
the forest floor through the tree top forest canopy gliding
along on a steel cable. A view once only seen by the
many exotic birds of the indigenous forest. About three
hours later you emerge from the forest having undertaken a
rare journey of a life time. An unusual experience which
you are likely to remember forever. Pre-booking is
essential during busy periods. Recommended age groups

Highest Bungy
Jump in the world
According to the Guinness Book of Records the Bloukranz Bridge
jump is the Worlds Highest Bungy Jump at 216 meters.
(Note the size of the lorry crossing the bridge). The fall
takes 7 seconds before the rebound starts. Even if this
is not for you, it is well worth holding your breath and watching
others pump up their adrenalin. |

Monkeyland
Monkeyland offers you a gentle guided one hour
walking safari through a section of enclosed forest conducted
by experienced game rangers. You will not only find the tour
very interesting and informative, but educational as well.
A day very well spent. Afterwards enjoy refreshments
and light meals on the sun deck of the lodge while the little
monkeys swing between the trees and entertain you. A living
forest experience for every age group, a must for the children. |

Stormsriver
You can follow a one-kilometre walk (medium strenuous) through
the forest to the old jetty, near the pedestrian suspension
bridge where you can take a boat ride up the gorge. Huge
caverns are interspersed on either side of the river, some
which extend upward 20 metres providing habitat for rare
bat species. |

attractions. The two largest chambers spread over an easy

Cango Ostrich
Farming
Visit an Ostrich Palace from a bygone era, when the famous
ostrich feathers were the height of fashion amongst the noble
ladies of the major capitals of the world. The palaces are
reminders of the riches once associated with the "feather
boom". Today ostrich meat is sought after and a
great deal is exported to Europe. If you weigh less
than 70Kg you can ride them of perhaps place a small wager
on the local jockeys that race with them. |

Cango Crocodile
& Cheetah Ranch
Get up close and see the prehistoric crocodiles basking in
the sun or cooling off in their ponds. Cheetahs are
bred and you are allowed to get in very close for those perfect
photographs. A variety of South African snakes always
attract attention.
